Basant Pachmi Celebrated at Ashmah International School

Ashmah International School,  Sector 70 Mohali was bedecked and ready to bedazzle in yellow as the much awaited Basant Ritu festival was celebrated with great enthusiasm and gaiety in the school. Principal Monica Mann & Chairman J S  Kesar was the Chief Guest on this occasion.The function started with the rendition of Saraswati Vandana & later, cultural presentation on the occasion was made by the teachers .The students enjoyed the marvelous weather and fabulous performance put up by the teachers. The teachers, all bedecked in yellow, with flowers as accessories, sashayed down the ramp on the stage of the open air theatre of the school. 

The function culminated with the talented teachers regaling the students with a song about the various colours and cheers of Basant.There was also kite flying competition in the school. It was a glorious sight to see the many coloured kites flying in the sky as teachers and students cheered the young kite flyers. Meanwhile the junior class students were busily involved in art competition (drawing and colouring) on the Basant theme.Speaking on the occasion Amarpreet Kaur Principal, Ashmah International School explained to the students the significance of Basant Panchami and said in the Bhagwad Gita, Lord Krishna, referred to himself as 'Basant Ritu' and gave the message of universal love and brotherhood. At the end, Yellow rice was distributed to everyone.
