Taking a dig at national conference, PDP General Secretary Rafi Ahmad Mir has said that PDP leadership is not power hungry unlike the national conference which has a history of bartering the interests of people of J&K.In a statement to KNS, Mir said that his party needed no sermons from Omar Abdullah on leadership and that the National Conference had weakened the state constitutionally ,politically, institutionally and had brought no laurels to the state despite being in power for so many years. He said that the ideals and struggle of PDP was to bring back the state it's glory which was lost due to calculated political sell outs of the national conference. Rafi Mir said that every political arrangement of the PDP since its inception has been done keeping in view people's welfare alone.

He said that history is testimony to the fact late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has never indulged into opportune politics but he strived hard for retaining J&K as one unit and carrying along all regions for equitable development. He said that at this juncture, the magnanimity of the PDP President Mehbooba Mufti is visible and appreciative for having concern for people and not grabbing CM’s chair in haste. She has shown that she is not after the chair but for the welfare of the people as she is not power hungry but looks for a stable future of people of J&K.The same has unnerved and stunned the NC leadership he said.Mir said that the defamatory and rhetoric statements of the National Conference that the PDP was floated by undemocratic and unconstitutional means by the central government, wholly casts a shadow of doubt upon their own working.
