CM Gives Nod To Constitute Wakf Board In The State

Chief Parliamentary Secretary Nesara Khatoon Amongst Seven Other Members Nominated In The Board

The Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today gave nod to constitute the Wakf Board in the state as required under section 14 of the Wakf Act, 1995, as amended in 2013.Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said that the file to this effect was cleared by the Chief Minister, last evening.  As per the decision, Mrs. F. Nesara Khatoon (Farzana Alam) would be the member from MLA category, Janaab Gazi Mohammed Umair from Bar council category, Mohammed Usman Qureshi from professional category, Syed Sadiq Hussain Naqvi and Janaab Shamim Ahmad Qazim would represent Shia and Sunni scholars in the board and Mr. Showkat Ahmad Parray, IAS, has been included from government officer category. Likewise, Mr. Dilbagh Hussain and Manju Qureshi have been nominated to the board under section 14(3) of the State Wakf Board.
