Police arrests two smugglers in Kupwara

Police Sunday claimed that it arrested two drug peddlers who were carrying 730 grams of brown sugar worth 80 lakhs from Karnah to Kupwara town.Police said the drug peddlers were identified as Hameed Khan, son of Majeed Khan of Lontha Tangdarh and Naseem Shah, son of Ibrahim Shah of Pingla Haridal Tangdarh.Senior Superintendent of Police, Aijaz Ahmad Bhat told KNS that two drug peddlers’ of Tangdarh. “The peddlers were carrying 730 grams of brown sugar worth 80 Lakhs in a mini bus (709) under no JKo9A 0225 from Karna to Kupwara. The accused were arrested at Marsaree area coming in between the destination,” he said.He said that First Information Report (FIR) vide no 8/2016 under section 8/21 NDPS has been registered in Kralpora police station.Bhat told KNS that there are some more persons involved in it. “We will arrest the involved persons soon,” he said.He said that the department is not going to compromise on such kind of things and appealed people to cooperate with police officials to eradicate it completely.
