‘GoI must deliver peoples promises denied to them from time to time’

The unholy alliance of the past ten months has facilitated the entry of right wing RSS into the Kashmir valley for the first time in the contemporary history of J&K State with the division of the state and its people on the lines of region and religion staring us in the face. In a statement to KNS, ANC Senior Vice President Muzzafar Shah said that an alarming situation is confronting the state as no Govt formation is taking place, despite the fact that elected representatives are there.

However, on the face of it there seems to be no option than to make the Govt of India commit before the people of J&K state on the deliverance of their promises.

The ANC Sr. VP further stated that if Mehbooba Mufti is trying to correct this situation, and if she is doing it without any personal or political agenda & even if there is one, we must at this juncture sink our political differences, stop counter attacking for petty interests and make Govt of India deliver the Peoples Promises denied to them from time to time, he said.

Shah cautioned powers, both in the State and the Centre to stop playing ball with the people, when the floods have destroyed us and politics is being played on the ruins of our homes and businesses. No serious steps have been initiated to ensure such catastrophes do not engulf the grief stricken people of Jammu Kashmir.If the demand for revocation of AFSPA, Return of Power Projects, Initiation of talks with all stake holders, Banning of firing bullets at smallest provocations, Honourable return of our Pandit brethrens, then it is high time to stand as one people irrespective of region or religion to ensure deliverance from the Govt of India, Shah stated.

ANC Sr. VP further stated that there should be no comparisons made of how many Kashmiri Pandits or Kashmiri Muslims were killed- Each life is precious. Serious introspection is required to be done by one and all to figure out why more than 6 lac Army and Paramilitary forces could not stop the exodus of our Pandit brethrens, when the same force stopped more than one million people to cross Uri & the line of control. The same force quelled the massive agitation when hundreds of young boys were butchered during the stone pelting uprising, he said. (KNS)
