Samoon calls for setting up land bank to promote industries in Kashmir

The Divisional Commissioner (Kashmir), Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon, Tuesday directed the Department of Industries and Commerce to expedite the process of setting up land bank for the promotion of industry in the state. He was addressing a meeting of officers of Industries Department, SIDCO, SICOP, Jammu and Kashmir Police and other officers of civil and Police administration to review the status of industrial units presently under occupation of security forces in Kashmir Valley.The Divisional Commissioner was informed that 131 industrial units were occupied in Kashmir Valley by the security forces out of which 86 were retrieved while 45 units are still under their occupancy.The Div Com said that to ensure growth of economy we need industrial development and setting up of land banks will go a long way in achieving the goal.The meeting was attended by senior officers of civil and police administration.
