DDC tours Bunjwah, takes stock of people’s problems

District Development Commissioner, Kishtwar, Ghulam Nabi Balwan today toured the Bunjwah Block of District Kishtwar and took stock of people’s problems in an series of interactive session with the locals.Sarpanches, panchas and locals apprised DDC about various problems including deteriorated condition of Dunadi to Bunjwah road , unscheduled Electric power cuts, Low Aadhar enrolment of the people, Pending MGNREGA Claims , less awareness about Agriculture and horticulture schemes and excessive electric load on exiting transformers and electric fluctuations in the area .Assuring the expeditious restoration of the Dunadi to Bunjwah road Mr Balwan directed the executing agencies viz, JKPCC and PMGSY to start the repair work on this stretch within 15 days besides asked Executive Engineer PMGSY to initiate the tendering process for the second stage of the said road project.
Further responding to the demand of providing electricity to un-electrified villages in the area he informed the people that by the end of this year all such villages will be electrified. To prevent the frequent power cuts and transformer damages DDC also appealed the people to judiciously use the electric power besides directed the XEn PDD to conduct frequent inspections to minimize the transmission and distribution losses and check power theft.Chief Agriculture officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry and Sheep Husbandry officer were impressed upon to educate the farmers about the various schemes run by these department through the awareness camps in the area to be organized in a week’s time.DDC also assured that special camps for capturing the Biometric of the left out population will be soon organized in the Block. Retreating the commitment of the administration for 100% Aadhar enrolment he also informed that an NPR Aadhar Moblie van with all facilities to capture the biometrics, on the spot, will also be soon flagged off for this purpose.
“90% claims for the payments under MGNREGA have been cleared and the rest 10% will soon be cleared,” said Mr Balwan while responding to the queries of the people .To ensure the punctuality of the officers and officials in this remote area DDC directed Tehsildar Bunjwah to send the daily attendance of all the employees to DC office besides asked him to conduct frequent inspections of various offices in the tehsil. CPO Kishtwar Dr Yasir Balwan, ACD Kishtwar Mr Akhtar Hussain Qazi,Xen PDD, District Social welfare officer , General Manger DIC,AD Employment and other District Officer among others officers accompanied DDC during the tour.
