Hurriyat G expresses concern over trio’s disappearance in Kupwara

While expressing its deep concern and anguish over the disappearance of three common civilians of Dardpora Kupwara since last two and a half months, All Parties Hurriyat Conference demanded impartial investigation into this incident and locating these missing persons. Hurriyat doubts the police and army version in which they had said that the trio had crossed over to Azad Kashmir. In his first reaction over this issue, Hurriyat spokesman said that according to the preliminary investigation about the three civilians conducted by the pro-freedom forum, all the fingers of doubt points towards the Indian army and it is believed that the army has kept them in their custody or they have been killed in any fake encounter. According to the Hurriyat statement, the personal character and the activities of the three missing persons also indicate that there are no possibilities that they could have thought of crossing the cease fire line. Hurriyat is of the view that the police and army under a planned manner tried to create an impression that the three persons have crossed over to other side of the bloody line. 

This is actually an attempt to divert the attention of the people who are demanding investigation into this incident and its purpose could be the protection of the culprits. While giving examples of the Machil Fake Encounter and hundreds of such incidents, Hurriyat Conference said that the direct involvement of the Indian army have been proved in all the missing episodes of the people living in border areas and the killing in the fake encounters cases so far. For the promotions and medals, the army officers continue to kill common civilians and then present them as militants.  Hurriyat also questioned the character of the Territorial Army personal who was reportedly in contact with the three persons till they got missing. Hurriyat said that the same character was found in Machil fake encounter who was used by the Indian army as a middle man to trap the civilians. While demanding impartial investigation into the missing case of Dardpora by some independent agency, Hurriyat Conference said that the army and the police are trying to hush-up the matter so the local as well as the international human rights organizations are duty bound to take notice of this incident and use their influence to locate the trio.
