Running away from Khadoor Sahib has exposed Congress hand behind Sarbat Khalsa: Tarun Chugh

Reacting to Congress decision to run away from the Khadoor Sahib by-poll contest, BJP national secretary Tarun Chugh today said that this has exposed the Congress plan to destabilize the peace and harmony in the state by hobnobbing with the anti-national elements who organized a Sarbat Khalsa at village Chabba.The last minute decision of the party to stay away from Khadoor Sahib poll has exposed Congress hand behind Sarbat Khalsa, Chugh said.He said the decision of supporting Sarbat Khalsa organizers, suggesting and drafting anti-national resolutions for Sarbat Khalsa, the resignation of Congress MLA Ramanjit Singh Sikki were all part of a gameplan to disturb the hard-earned peace in Punjab. Chugh said Congress has displayed its anti-democracy character by running away from a poll which was forced upon the people of Punjab and especially the voters of Khadoor Sahib Assembly constituency.  

He said by not going to electorate again to seek their mandate, the Congress and the former MLA have insulted the mandate and sentiments of the people of the constituency. Terming it as a crude political conspiracy to disturb the peace of the state and insult the democratic values in the state, Chugh said now Rahul Gandhi and Capt Amarinder Singh stand exposed for their anti-Punjab stance and their lust to win elections in the state at any cost.The BJP leader wondered how Congress would justify backing anti-national forces and the resolutions passed by them which included the appointment of Beant Singh killer Jagtar Singh Hawara as Jathedar of Akal Takht.
