Ludhiana's induction in first 20 cities from entire country matter of proud: Kamal Sharma

Announcement vindicates the commitment of present coalition government for progress of Punjab

Punjab BJP president Kamal Sharma has conveyed his happiness over Ludhiana making it to the list of the first 20 cities and towns selected under smart cities mission of the Shri Narendra Modi-led NDA government at the centre. In a released issued here, Shri Sharma said that it was a matter of great pride for Punjab that one of its most significant city - Ludhiana, has made it to the smart city project.Expressing his delight, the BJP State President expressed his congratulations to the Minister of Urban Development Shri M.Venkaiah Naidu, who formally announced the list of cities and towns selected under smart cities mission today. "The smart city concept is a dream project of  Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. What makes me immense happy is the fact that despite being a rigorous competition, Ludhiana has managed to make it to the ambitious project. This clearly reflects that present coalition government in Punjab is working hard for the progress of the state", said Shri Sharma.   

Shri Sharma said that under the project, the cities will be developed to have basic infrastructure through assured water and power supply, sanitation and solid waste management, efficient urban mobility and public transport, IT connectivity, e-governance and citizen participation. "In the next five years, Rs 3 lakh crore will be spent in developing the towns to provide world class infrastructure, as part of the government's big push for urban renewal", he argued, while adding that PM Shri Narendra Modi deserves accolades for having such a good vision for the country.
