The book by Prof. Bhim Singh was released on the eve of the New Year (2014) by Sheila Dixit, one of the most daring, foremost & forceful leaders of Indian National Congress who served Delhi flawlessly as its Chief Minister for three consecutive terms. The book was released at the residence of the former Chief Minister, Smt. Sheila Dixit, 3, Motilal Nehru Marg, New Delhi in the presence of several noted social & political activists including Shri Subhash Goyal, Former President of Delhi University, Padamshree Mrs. Uma Sharma,  noted world-famed Kathak Maestro, local media person, Mrs. Nasreen Hamid, Delhi Pradesh Panthers Party President, Mr. Rajiv Jolly Khosla, Mrs. Sudesh Dogra, Political Secretary-NPP, Mrs. Kamia Mulhotra, noted bolliwood actor, Sr. Harcharan Singh Josh, a prominent Congress leader and advocate, Mr. Rohit Pandey, former Secretary, SCBA and others.

‘The Blunders and Way Out’ is a strikingly original documentation of facts based on authentic & historical data placed in socio-political perspective. It exposes the ‘blunders’ committed by the leaders in Delhi and Kashmir ever since the heterogeneous State of J&K was created in 1846. The blunders committed by the national leaders--from Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru till date--have been depicted with clarity and visionary approach. The book has listed 47 blunders while dealing with Jammu and Kashmir. The blunders include the discriminatory resolutions of the Security Council and the failures of several noted leaders from different disciplines. The formation of unnatural union in 1846, arrests of leaders of J&K, silence of Indian leadership over occupation of POK,Gilgit & Mirpur find a space on the pages of this book. The way out is strikingly useful for the intellectuals, the media and the parliamentarians which has come out with a fresh doctrine to amend Article 370 so as to empower Parliament to legislate in respect of Central Subjects in J&K.

The author has a unique distinction of having personally opened up channels of communication with several prominent leaders of both sides of J&K as well as with the high-profile policymakers of India and Pakistan. The book provides revealing insights into the thinking of the noted leaders of the troubled State of J&K, which was tragically pided in the aftermath of partition of India in 1947, following an invasion from Pakistan on October 19, 1947.The author, a recognized specialist on J&K Affairs, has proposed a daring formula for the permanent settlement of LoC in J&K, which is a major dispute between India and Pakistan. “The dispute needs to be addressed with ‘human approach’ as ‘wars’ have failed to solve international conflicts in the world.” The book suggests a new roadmap to create a new era of peaceful co-existence between India and Pakistan. ‘Internal tension’ within J&K is to be resolved by ‘reorganization’ of the Indian State by introducing a federal structure by separation of powers; legislative, political and financial for each region; Ladakh, Kashmir and Jammu Pradesh without trifurcation. The author has made a scientific approach suggesting that this can be achieved by an amendment in the temporary provisions of Article 370 of the Indian Constitution. The book has focused on the ‘ABC’ of Jammu and Kashmir with an undaunted thought, forceful voice and fearless pen. Deserves attention!Prof. Bhim Singh, the author of the book who spent more than eight years in prisons at different times calls the Second Edition of the book, ‘The Blunders and Way Out’ New Year (2014) gift to the people of India.
