Arrangements for 3 day Public Information Campaign finalized at Kathua

Additional District Development Commissioner, Kathua Manmohan Singh chaired a meeting of District Officers here today to review the arrangements for the three day Public Information Campaign being organized by the Press Information Bureau.Media and Communication Officer (PIB), Sunil Koul informed that Press Information Bureau (PIB) Jammu would organise three day Public Information Campaign (PIC) from 3rd to 5th February 2016 at Sports Stadium Kathua. The main purpose of this campaign is to create mass awareness on the flagship programmes of the government viz. National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), Beti Bachao Beti Padao , Swachch Bharat Abhiyaan , Atal Pension Yojana, PM Jan Dhan Yojna etc.The ADDC while reviewing the arrangements said that PICs provide good opportunity for implementing agencies to reach out to the grassroots level through information, education and communication mode. He directed all the officers present in the meeting that adequate arrangements efforts should be put in place to make this campaign a grand success.He further said that Media centre will be established for proper dissemination of the news on daily basis. PDD will ensure un-interrupted power supply for three day event at the venue. PHE department may ensure clean drinking water supply for three days by permanently deploying water tanker at the PIC venue.
Municipal authorities would provide mobile toilet facility at the venue for the convenience of visitors. CEO Kathua will arrange a rally of students on the valedictory day of the PIC. Different departments will install their respective stalls during the PIC highlighting their flag ship programmes and depicting their developmental and success stories. Departments should also identify resource persons especially from Rural Development, Health, Education/SSA, BSNL, Employment, ICDS, PMGSY and PM Jan Dhan Yojna for creating mass awareness regarding various schemes during the PIC. To avert any mishap a fire Tender be ensured at the PIC venue by Fire & Emergency Services Department.
Later, in the meeting arrangements for National Voters Day were reviewed in which ADDC Kathua said that National Voters Day will be celebrated at District as well as Tehsil level. At district level symposium, rallies, cultural and nukkad nataks will be organized to mark National Voters Day. On 25thJanuary, 2016 (National Voters Day) a rally will be taken out from Girls Higher Secondary school Kathua which will culminate at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Park , Kathua where Nukkad Nataks will be performed to sensitize the masses about their right to vote. A pledge will also be administered to the youth regarding their right to franchise.In the meeting Assistant Commissioner (UT) , Rahul Yaday, CPO , ACD , RTO, PO ICDS, CEO, CMO, XEN PDD, XEN PHE, XEN PWD, CMO, other district officers and Senior Consultant PIB , V K Magotra were also present in the meeting.
