Vakil hailed the determination and will of Rahul Gandhi for curbing corruption

Member AICC and Former Minister Abdul Gani Vakil hailed the determination and will of Shri Rahul Gandhi for curbing corruption and said that youth of this country must support him to realize the dream of corruption free India. He said that this menace has taken toll to a greater extent and weakened the economy of the country as well and menace needs to be tackled with iron hand.  Former Minister said that if the party’s resolve to weed out corruption was in tandem with same determination, its position would have got improved and the situation that worsened in recent state elections was preventable.However, Vakil urged party workers that this is the time to learn lessons and it is better to be late than never and stressed them to rededicate themselves for party’s success and fight the menace of corruption at inpidual level also. He reiterated that congress high command must understand that corruption is the basic factor which distances masses and electorate from any Government because their sufferings remain unaddressed. Mr. Vakil said that if we don’t control or take steps in eradicating corruption there will be virtual war between have and have not’s.

AICC Member urged high command to ascertain the prevailing ground realities and informed it that a situation has now arisen in the J&K state which demands that corrupt and tainted leaders or ministers should be kept away from Party positions and official positions from without any inordinate delay till they are absolved of all the allegations by investigating agencies, courts or anti corruption bodies otherwise Congress will have to face people’s wrath in coming elections.Mr. Vakil while addressing party workers convention at Janbazpora Baramulla also hailed the passing of historic Lokpal Bill and said the credit goes to Sonia Ji and Rahul Ji who rose above party line and paved the way for passage of this bill after five decade wait by evolving consensus amongst all parties.Former Minister expressed his serious concern over erratic power supply, scarcity of drinking water and shortage of other essential items in the valley particularly in rural areas and urged the government to put in place sincere efforts in redressing the grievances of people and ensure accountability of field functionaries in this behalf.Besides others who addressed the gathering include Ex MLC Haji Ali Mohammad Bhat, Sr. Congress Leaders Ghulam Nabi Shah and Pandit Brij Nath Nehru.
