Focus of Govt to create improved basic amenities at rural pockets: Bhalla

Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture Raman Bhalla has said that focus of the Government was to create all basic amenities in rural pockets at par with urban centres, adding that in this regard several schemes have been launched to improve the living standard and necessary infrastructure   there.This was stated by the Minister while interacting with the people at Shergarh and Dharap village after assessing their development related issues, here today.Mr. Bhalla informed that Government has formulated a comprehensive plan to develop every rural pocket of the State with all infrastructural facilities. He asked the ruralties to cooperate with executing agencies for developing basic amenities. He asked the Rural Development Department to use quality material on development works, adding that Government was committed to create durable and standard quality assets for the people.

Responding to the villagers demand, the Minister announced Rs. 3 lakh for construction of cremation shed and compound wall at cremation ground in Shergarh. He asked the RDD to complete the project within stipulated time frame.Regarding construction of approach stairs to Ranbir canal, he asked the RDD officers to prepare estimates for this purpose and submit the same for funding. He asked the concerned department to dig hand pump at the cremation ground for convenience of the people.At Channi Himmat, Mr. Bhalla also kick started construction work of lanes and drains, for which Government has earmarked Rs. 6 lakh. He asked the executing agency to complete the works within prescribed time frame.Earlier, at Gandhi Nagar, the Minister also attended a function organized by representatives of Mahajan Sabha.On the occasion, Mr. Bhalla paid rich tributes to Justice Mehar Chand Mahajan and said he was a social worker and always fought for the cause of the community.Responding to the demand of the community, the Minister said Government has earmarked RS. 1.27 cr for construction of multipurpose community hall on the available site near to the Mahajan Sabha. He said after construction, the place would be used for religious as well as social functions of the Mahajan biradari.
