DC inaugurates Pulse polio Programme

Deputy Commissioner, Bhupinder Kumar, inaugurated the 3 day Intense pulse polio programme here today.“The pulse polio programme targeting the beneficiaries in the age group of 0-5 years  will provide oral polio drops to about 81,000 children across the District for which  about 600 polio booths covering the Ghat, Bhaderwah, Assar, Gandoh and thatri block of District Doda have been established”, said DC while speaking on the occasion.The DC said that 2400 health workers of Health, ICDS and Education department have been engaged for booth level and house to house targeting of the beneficiaries so that no one is left without the oral dose of vaccine.  Besides, 45 High risk areas have been indentified and after  first day of booth level targeting  next two days will focus on door to door visit by the workers so that every child in the targeted age group is covered  besides Zonal monitors have been appointed for Zone wise supervision  of the programme, he added.
