Anil Joshi orders for vigilance enquiry and registration of criminal case against erring officials

In a serious matter of tampering with the official record by the officials for monetary benefits, Anil Joshi has referred the issue of honorarium paid to staff associated with the conduct of municipal elections in the year 2015 to the state vigilance department. In this case the Finance Department had put a query to the local self department as to if such a honorarium could be paid as per the relevant provisions to which the department staff tampered by putting correction fluid, thus making it a sanction from the Finance Department. In another similar case of the official high handed ness, fake orders were issued in the year 2011 in regard to a Chief Sanitary Inspector posted at Municipal Corporation Ludhiana promoting him as Asstt. Health Officer. The Minister has ordered registration of a criminal case against the officials involved in this fraud. The guilty officials will not at all be spared.

At the same time Sh. Joshi has cautioned the officials to reduce the litigation in the department by addressing the genuine demands of staff/public in a proper time frame. Wherever there is any provision of arbitration in the agreement with the firms, such a channel should be exhausted before proceeding for any court case. With this the hard earned public money would be saved which could be used for other development works.The departmental promotions committees meetings should be held wherever any such case was pending and any type of due increment should be released to the staff without his request. Such delays result in corruption which should be curbed at all costs in order to provide effective governance to the staff and general public. Sh. Joshi appealed the public to address any complaint in this regard to him and immediate action will be taken.
