Awareness programme on soil health management organized

An awareness programme on soil health management was held here today with an objective to educate the farmers about the importance of soil health in agriculture.Nearly, 50 orchardists from all the 10 zones of the district participated in the camp.District Level Subject Matter Specialists delivered lecture on soil health management and procedural technique of taking soil samples besides the importance of soil health cards was also explained in detail.Earlier, Chief Horticulture Officer C.L Sharma praised the orchardists for their overwhelming response towards soil health management practices. He also stressed upon the orchardists to avail maximum benefit of all the schemes related to the horticulture department.Later, the orchardists were taken to District Soil analysis laboratory of Department of Agriculture District Udhampur to get them acquainted with the process of soil sampling. Among others, DHO, Officers of Horticulture Department and orchardists attended the camp.
