Indian troops Wednesday conducted a massive cordon and search operation in Rohmu hamlet of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district. “The search operation was launched after gun shots were heard in the village for the two consecutive days,” a police official told CNS.He said that the cordon and search operation was conducted in the village by army’s 53 and 55 Rashtriya Rifles, and police’s Special Operation Group (SOG).“We had apprehensions that militants may be present in the village. The forces conducted searches for about 8 hours,” he adding that the operation was later called off. (CNS)
