DDC Kupwara reviews polio immunization arrangements

The District Development Commissioner, Kupwara today convened a meeting of various departments to review the arrangements put forth by the district administration for Pulse Polio Immunization Programme (PPIP) to be held on January 17, 2016.It was given out that under fourth and final round of PPIP, 1,34405 children upto 5 years of age will be covered in the district. In this connection 720 PPIP centers have been established, while 737 employees from ICDS, 883 from health department (ASHAs), 1259 from medical department, 81 NGOs, 56 mobile teams, besides 146 supervisory staff have been deployed for the success of the programme. The campaign will continue for three days in the district.The DDC emphasized upon the teams to make the immunization programme a complete success. He also appealed the parents to bring their children to the nearest polio booths on the January 17.The Additional Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Chief Educational Officer, Chief Medical officer, BMOs and officers of ICDS, Social Welfare, Education, Revenue and Health departments participated in the meeting.
