DDC reviews preparedness for IPPI campaign

To review the preparedness of Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) campaign in Ganderbal district, a meeting of District Task Force (DTF) was held under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner, Ganderbal, Showkat Aijaz Bhat here today.Speaking on the occasion, the DDC directed the officers concerned to focus on high risk areas including slums and nomadic populations where chances of polio are on the higher side besides people should also be made aware about immunization. He exhorted that no child below 5 years be left without immunization in the district.

He stressed upon the officers of Health, ICDS, Social Welfare and Education Departments to put in coordinated efforts to make the district polio free.DDC stressed for organizing special awareness campaign by involving NGOs for generating maximum awareness among the general public regarding Pulse Polio Campaign in the district. He emphasized for cent percent successes in the ensuing IPPI rounds.The meeting was attended by Chief Medical Officer, District Immunization Officer, Chief Education Officer, CDPO, and, Block Medical Officer, Wakura.
