SVMM observes Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary

On the eve of 153rd Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda Ji, the Swami Vivekananda Medical Mission (SVMM) Charitable Hospital, observed its Annual Day at Ambphala today.Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta was chief guest on the occasion.Paying rich tribute to Swami Vivekananda Ji, the Speaker said thatMission of Vivekananda was an interpretation of India’s spiritual culture. He said Swami Ji always tried to enrich religious consciousness and humanistic teaching of Vedanta philosophy.Mr. Gupta said Vivekananda is regarded as the patriotic saint of modern India and an inspirer of dormant national consciousness.The Speaker said that Swamiji worked tirelessly and is known both at national and international levels. He strived to promote peace and human brotherhood on the spiritual foundation, he added.

Appreciating the role of Vivekananda Medical Mission Charitable Hospital, Ved Mandir Ambphala Mr. Gupta said that hospital has been serving the people for more than 45 years and has played yeoman’s role in health sector of the state. Later, Speaker also visited various wards and sections of the hospital and was informed about facilities being provided there.Earlier on the occasion president, SVMM, Chaman Lal Gupta threw light on activities of the mission.Besides, medical, para-medical staff, prominent citizens and a large number of people attended the functions.
