PPP Gets A Severe Jolt With Its Chamkaur Sahib Candidate Joining SAD

Sukhbir Singh Badal, President Shiromani Akali Dal today said that earlier the Congress led UPA government departs from the centre, better it would be for the country as they are utilizing everyday of their rule to loot the precious resources of the country. Speaking to media persons after inducting Gurpreet Singh GP, the PPP candidate from Chamkaur Sahib along with his thousands of supporters in the SAD fold,  Badal said it was sad day for the country with Congress led UPA government running amock with full destructive mode. He said that with UPA at the helm of affairs, the economic situation of the country was at the lowest ebb. He said that with the policy paralysis gripping the government and ministers recommending coal mines for their kith and kin, nobody was bothered about the economic growth of the country. When questioned about drought relief for Punjab he said that despite our raising demand for Rs.5200 crore as drought relief with PM and Agriculture minister Punjab till date has not received a single penny. He said that anti-Punjab bias of Gandhi family run UPA gets exposed from the fact that every policy of the Union government was tailor made to harm Punjab. He said that whether it was debt relief of Rs.74000 crores, or it was economic package for the state or it may be the drought relief for the state, the Punjab has got big zero in every scheme. He said that schemes were made this way that Punjab should get a minimum share.When asked about property tax  Badal said that we were forced by Union government to levy property tax on the urban population as a preconditioned for releasing JNRUMN funds. He said that last year we lost Rs.1100 crore grant just because we refused levy property tax and this year Rs.900 crore grant would have gone to drains if we had not imposed these taxes. He said that captain Amarinder Singh instead of staging a road show of Dharna in Punjab against taxes should stage it before 10 Janpath to get these anti-Punjab policies changed. He said that let Captain oppose proposed Rs.5 hike in the price of petrol, Rs.3 in diesel and Rs.80 in the LPG. He said that with crude at the lowest level, the proposed hike was just to fill the coffers of multinational oil companies at the cost of Aam Adami. When asked about reason for Congress and PPP leaders coming in hordes to join SAD he said that actually all opposition parties in Punjab including Congress were facing leadership crisis and leaders in those parties were not seeing any hope in their leadership. He said that even leaders of other parties were convinced of the fact that Shiromani Akali Dal has a vision for Punjab that can take Punjab to top position in the Country and this party has will power and credibility to realize its vision. Badal said that the SAD-BJP government was fighting a twin battle against narcotic and immigration mafia and warned that nobody in this trade would be spared. Earlier  Badal formally inducted  Gurpreet Singh GP,  Tehreen Ahmed, Independent Councilor of Ludhiana in the party fold by offering them robe of honour.
