Sharanjit Dhillon Visits Dhandari Khurd Area Today

Listens To Grievances Of Area Residents; Directs Officers On The Spot

For having first hand information about the problems and issues related to Sahnewal constituency, Punjab Irrigation Minister and Sahnewal MLA Sharanjit Singh Dhillon today visited ward number 14 of the city and assured the residents that their problems would be sorted out on priority basis. Accompanied by officers from different government departments, Mr Dhillon visited the area on foot and issued directions to the officers on the spot so that all problems and issues related to the area residents should be sorted out soon.The area residents informed Mr Dhillon that there is problem of water accumulation during rainy season in some parts of the Dhandari Khurd area, which falls in ward number 14 of Ludhiana Municipal Corporation. 

The minister immediately directed the MC officials to formulate a detailed plan in this regard and make sure there is no such issue during the rainy season.The area residents demanded that the existing park near Gurudwara be beautified. He directed the officials to develop the park by spending Rs 10 lakh, which he granted from his discretionary fund. Regarding another issue of area residents that due to entry of heavy vehicles in the area, the roads get damaged, to which he asked the officials to install iron pillars on the road along the rail tracks so that this issue is checked.Sharanjit Singh Dhillon also spoke to Mayor Mr Harcharan Singh Gohalwaria over the phone and asked him to grant more machinery and staff so that the sewers in the area are cleaned regularly.

Area residents thanked Mr Dhillon for giving special emphasis to their area. Mr Ram Lal, a migrant from Bihar and resident of Dhandari Khurd, said that ever since Mr Sharanjit Singh Dhillon first visited the area in 2011, the area has been much developed as compared to previous years. He said that there are many more things that need to be done, which the minister have assured that would be provided soon. Sharanjit Singh Dhillon also told the officers that there is no shortage of funds for development works and that if additional funds are required for any other project, they should inform him. He assured them that he would provide funds from his discretionary quota.
