100% target for preparing RUpay Debit Card under Prime Minister Jan-Dhan yojna (PMJY) should be ensured in the district by 31 January 2016. However, at present 32 % debit cards has been prepared. This was directed by Deputy Commissioner Tejinder Pal Singh Sidhu while he was presiding over a district level meeting regarding review of implementation of PMJY, with district bank coordinators at district administrative complex.During this, Deputy Commissioner said that PMJY has been initiated by centre govt. for the welfare of general public. As such, awareness regarding the same need to be generated among them. During this he directed all the banks to establish a dedicated counter  in their banks to generate awareness among general public and to facilitate them for opening bank accounts under PMJY. He also directed to install special hoardings near banks too. During this he asked to additional deputy Commissioner (Development ) Sh. Bhupinder Singh to issue special directions to al BDPOs and Executive Officers to ensure installation of special hoardings and information banners at prominent places. 

Sidhu said that accidental insurance worth Rs. 1 lac and life insurance worth Rs. 30 thousand is being done for the Rupay debit card holder free of cost. Swapping of Debit Card once in 90 days is mandatory in spite of zero money in his account.Sidhu said that Prime Minister Bima Yojna has also been started under PMJY. Under this scheme customer having age range of 18 to 70 years, has to pay only Rs. 12 per year, for which he can avail accidental claim amounting to Rs. 2 Lacs and any body having age range from 18 to 50 years could become a member of this insurance plan by paying annual premium of Rs. 330/-. Under this plan claim of Rs. 2 lac is being provided to the family member in case of accidental death. A person could also take benefit of both the policies with a combined claim plan of 4 lacs.

He further said that Attal Pension Yojna has also been started for the beneficiaries having age range of 18 o 40 years. Under this pension plan one can earn a pension of up to Rs. 5000/- per month after an age of 60 years. During this he also directed the Executive officers to expedite the process of low interest loans. During this Sh. R. K. Saini District Lead Manager PNB  said that under Prime Minister Mudra Yojna special loans are being provided for self employment other than agriculture works. He said that under sub-schemes named as Shishu Loan scheme, a loan amounting to Rs. 50 thousand and under Kishor Loan Scheme Loan amounting to Rs. 50 thousand to 5 lacs and under Tarun Loan Scheme loan amounting to Rs. 5 lac to 10 lacs is being provided. During this all bank coordinators and other officials were present.
