Joint Efforts and Actions against terrorism need of the hour-Patrick Brown

Member Provincial Parliament, Ontario and Leader of the Official Opposition Patrick Brown today advocated the need to initiate joint efforts and actions to combat terrorism across the globe. Addressing media persons here before paying obeisance at Golden Temple, Mr. Patrick describing terrorist activities 'very unfortunate' and said joint answers to this global evil were need of the hour. He said that countries facing terrorism should launch a crusade together against this menace so that designs of terrorists could be thwarted in future. He said that this was a global challenge, which should be jointly tackled and eliminated.Brown, who was here along with a Canadian delegation to pay respect at Golden Temple, said that combating terrorism should be taken as 'top priority' and Canada was committed to extend every possible help and support to the nations combating terrorism. He said that he had discussed this sensitive issue with various leaders of different nations and emphasized the need of joint efforts against this global evil.

Answering a query regarding racial attacks on Sikhs in North America, Brown clarified that in Canada such were the rare incidents and the Canada had adopted 'zero tolerance' against it. He termed these attacks under mistaken identity, misinformation and confusion as unfair and unacceptable.Replying to another query regarding his visit, Mr. Brown said that he was here along with members of Indo-Canada Chamber of Commerce under a trade mission. He said that the trade mission was aimed to make fruitful connections that will benefit economies of both Punjab and Ontario.Brown informed that under this mission earlier he visited Pakistan and now he will meet representatives of various states in India to boost economic ties and bilateral relations. Mr. Brown also informed that this was his 16th trip to India besides 9th visit to Golden Temple.Prominent amongst those accompanied Mr. Brown included Mr. Gulab Singh Saini, Advisor to MPP, Mr. JadJohal, Mr. GogiSidhu, Mr. Sunny Grewal, Fiona brown, Janve, Robert Fesal, prof sarchandsingh, Rakeshprashar, parabhjotDaliwal etc.
