Punjab To Develop Aam Khas Bagh At Fatehgarh As State-Of-The-Art Mughal Heritage Monument

 The Punjab Government would develop ‘Aam Khas Bagh’ at Fatehgarh as a state-of-the-art tourism destination Mughal Heritage monument.  A decision to this effect was taken by the Punjab Chief Minister  Parkash Singh Badal during a meeting with the senior officers of the Tourism and Cultural Affairs department here today. The Chief Minister also approved to constitute a committee for preparing a detailed plan for this project. Taking part in the deliberations  Badal said that he had personally visited this place of great historic significance, where the Royal couples used to stay while going to and coming back from Lahor during Mughal’s period. This Royal inn that was initially built by Babur and rebuilt by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in the middle of Delhi and Lahore along the Grand Trunk road, could be adopted as World Heritage site as it has a great potential to attract tourists from within and outside of the country, added  Badal.The Chief Minister further instructed the concerned department to undertake the renovation work in such a manner that original texture and paintings on the walls and the roofs, depicting Mughal architectural proficiency could be preserved in their original form. He further asked the Chief Secretary to implement this entire project under his personal guidance and supervision.  Prominent amongst those who were present in the meeting included, Tourism, Cultural Affairs  Sarwan Singh Phillaur, Advisor to CM  Mahesh Singh Grewal, Chief Secretary  Rakesh Singh, Principal Secretary to CM,  SK Sandhu, Principal Secretary Tourism Mrs. Geetika Kalha, Special Principal Secretaries to CM,  KJS Cheema and  Gurkirat Kirpal Singh, Secretary Expenditure  Dalip Kumar, Director Cultural Affairs Dr. KS Sra, Director Hospitality  NS Brar and Deputy Commissioner  Yashvir Mahajan.
