6th NVD celebration arrangements discussed

To discuss the arrangements for celebration of 6th National Voter's Day on 25th January 2016, Additional Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Angrez Singh Rana convened a meeting of ARO’s and AERO’s in his office chamber, here today.Among others, SDM Chenani (ARO), Mr. D.K Sharma, SDM Ramnagar(ARO), Mr. Dhirender Kumar, District Social Welfare Officer, Ms. Rachna Sharma, Tehsildars(AEROs), Election Naib Tehsildar and officers of  Election Cell   attended the meeting.It was decided in the meeting that main function would be held at district headquarter wherein District Election Officer would hand over the EPICs to the new electors registered in the electoral rolls. Similar functions would also be held at Subdivision, Tehsil and Booth level where respective SDM’s, Tehsildars and Booth Level Officers would give EPICs to the electors enrolled for the first time in the electoral rolls.The ADC stressed upon the concerned officers to ensure mass participation of general public, sarpanches, panches, prominent citizens, students etc in the NVD function. It was also decided in the meeting that awareness rallies, competitions viz debates, painting, quiz and slogan writing would be organized by involving college and school students at District, Subdivision as well as Tehsil Levels by the respective concerned officers. All the concerned officers were also directed to publicize the event by putting hoardings and banners regarding National Voter’s Day in their respective areas.ADC exhorted upon the concerned officers to put in coordinated efforts for the successful conduct of the National Voter's Day celebration  in the district.
