Senior National Conference Leader and Party’s State Spokesperson Junaid Azim Mattu Monday lashed out at the Government for selective governance in Sonawar where the needs of the constituents were being weighed based on their political affiliations and ideology.Addressing a series of meetings and interacting with public delegations in Khimber and Chatterhama on Sunday, Junaid Mattu said the PDP-BJP Government continues to be obsessed with re-inaugurating projects that were sanctioned and completed during the tenure of the previous Government and has broken all promises that were made to garner votes from the people. He also expressed disappointment at the deprivation of Khimber and Chatterhama of the basic facilities of electric poles, lift irrigation, timber and ration and said the deplorable condition of the Primary Health Centers at Khimber and Chatterhama was shocking.

As per the statement issued to CNS, Junaid Mattu interacted with workers and public delegations and took note of various public grievances that have been continuously ignored by the local MLA. “Despite the fact that the local MLA from here is the Junior Minister for Power, it seems like there is a deliberate and retributive plan to deprive these areas of basic power infrastructure and electric supply. Electric Poles are being distributed selectively and erected outside the homes of PDP workers in the area, rather than using them where needed. This doesn’t behoove an elected representative. He is answerable and accountable to every single constituent in every single locality of his constituency”, Junaid Mattu said.Junaid Mattu also expressed shock and dismay over the neglect of Primary Health Centers of Khimber and Chatterhama and demanded the Government immediately assesses areas of deficiency and also ensures that both Health Centers are properly staffed, equipped and stocked with all necessary medical supplies. “It also appears that the ambulance of one PHC is being used in the other area and has been apparently kept in the custody of a PDP worker, which is unacceptable.

Locals from the area have to face enormous hardships transporting patients to hospitals in absence of the ambulances”, Mattu added after touring the area.“The Lift Irrigation Scheme for Khimber was approved and finalized by the previous Government as per the needs of the people here who continue to be solely dependent on water distribution from a natural spring network in the area which has decreased supply due to settlement over the years. However, the present Government seems to have decided to persecute the people of Khimber by choosing not to pursue this scheme. I hope the local MLA stops dispensing his governance related duties based on political and partisan affiliations and acts in the best interests of his constituents”, Junaid Mattu further said. (CNS)
