DC reviews arrangements for Republic Day

Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone today convened a meeting of officials to take stock of arrangements being put in place for ensuing Republic Day celebration on January 26.The meeting was attended by IG police, ADC Srinagar, SSP Srinagar and officials of CRPF, Traffic, SMC, Information, R&B, Radio, Doordarshan, Tourism and other departments.    Threadbare discussion was held on arrangements including security, transport, sanitation, power supply, medicare etc.The DC directed the officials of SMC to maintain cleanliness in and around Bakshi Stadium. He directed the officials to ensure better security arrangements, parking, drinking water tankers, uninterrupted water supply, proper seating arrangements at Bakshi stadium and availability of snow cutter machines.The Deputy Commissioner was briefed about the arrangements, being put in place for smooth conduct of the Republic day celebrations.
