Goa cannot follow Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's odd-even scheme for streamlining traffic because of its tourist inflow, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar said on Friday.Parrikar, a former Goa chief minister, was speaking at a function organised by the union Ministry for Road Transport, National Highways and Shipping, where minister Nitin Gadkari launched road infrastructure projects of Rs.3,500 crore on Friday."In Goa, Kejriwal's odd and even solution cannot be implemented. If we follow the odd and even rule, the tourist will be stuck on the border. Tourists will have to be told, if you are coming from Kolhapur, your car should have an odd number, tomorrow you can switch it to an even number.

"The Delhi formula will not work. We will have to allow cars coming with tourists," Parrikar said, while also lamenting the road accidents in Goa.On an average, one person dies every day on the congested roads in Goa, India's smallest state, which has a high density of two-wheeler traffic. The national capital on Friday implemented the odd-even vehicle scheme due to the worsening vehicular pollution level.
