Grievance redressal camps held at Sallar, Srigufwara

For on-spot redressal of public grievances, the Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Mr. Muneer Ul Islam today held grievance redressal camps in Sallar and Srigufwara areas of the district in which large number of locals participated.The camps were also attended by sarpanchs, panchs, members of civil society, media fraternity and representatives of Auqaf Committees.Addressing the public gathering at Sallar, the Deputy Commissioner said that the sole aim of such a camp is to redress genuine public issues by channelizing resources of government schemes and acquainting both officers and people about their roles and responsibilities.Responding to grievances highlighted by the people pertaining to various departments, Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned officers to redress the pending issues in a time bound manner so that people of the area do not have to suffer during winter months. Various issues pertaining to land compensation, electricity dues and timber availability were addressed on spot.  

While listening to grievances of the people at Sallar and Srigufwara regarding construction of fence, bunds, playground and common facility centre at Sallar, the Deputy Commissioner said while bunds and fencing work shall be taken up under the ‘Convergence Scheme’ of the RDD department, the other demands shall also be met and funds for the same shall be released at the earliest.The Deputy Commissioner also directed CEO Anantnag to fill up all vacant posts of teachers and other staff in schools of the constituency. He directed the officers of CAPD to distribute ration every month and provide new ration cards to the families based on 2011census data. Responding to the issue of worn-out electricity poles and wires, the DC said that PDD department has been already tasked to upgrade the power infrastructure in the whole district under PMRP scheme.

Stressing for a greater role of Panchayat and participation of common people in decision making and implementation of various developmental schemes in the two areas, the Deputy Commissioner said that Panchayats have a central role in the development of any village and people should play a proactive role in strengthening of these institutions.The Deputy Commissioner also directed officers of PHE to finish the pending construction work at Wullarhama Water Supply Scheme and to make it operational so that people of the catchment area get water supply throughout the year. The camp was attended by ADDC Anantnag, Chief Medical Officer, SDM Pahalgam, District Social Welfare Officer, AD Fisheries, XENs of R&B, PDD, PMGSY, PHE, I&FC and district officers of various departments besides concerned Tehsildars, BDOs and officers of CAPD department.
