Balbir Singh Sidhu , Congress Candidate from Mohali Constituency today released his Election Manifesto for the upcoming Vidhan Sabha polls on 30th January. Speaking on the occasion , Sidhu said that it is in line with the Congress Manifesto but I have tried to commit myself to certain region specific issues which shall go a long way in alleviating the grievances of the constituency. He said that that even as a  Member Legislator from Opposition Party he has been able to safeguard the interests of his people. He said that for 5 years Akalis have been crying hoarse that there is no money for development, no money to pay wages but the truth was that crores of rupees of central government grants were getting lapsed.  This money was being lapsed as Akalis were not actually interested in development of the state but in the development of their own Private Limited Company.

He said with the Congress Government in the state he will ensure that the people of Mohali get the full benefit of all Centre funded schemes.  He was surprised at the low vision of the opponent candidates who are claiming that they intend to make Mohali into Gurgaon.  My aim is world class infrastructure and best in the area job opportunities for people of the constituency.  Mohali to be a city at par with Singpore.  Mr. Anurag Aggarwal, Sr Vice President , Mohali Industries Association, present on the occasion said that he was glad that Congress Party is focused on promoting industry in the state.  He said that Congress realizes that the road to prosperity of a state is industrialization and that is why the entire industry is in favour of Congress party coming to power. Mr. SS Sandhu, Past president, Mohali Industries association endorsed his views.

Mr. Sidhu said that he has written to the Election Commission to declare Holiday in the Tricity on 30th January as a large no of voters from Mohali have their place of work in Chandigarh and Panchkula. These people feared that their employers may not grant them leave to cast their votes as there are no elections in Chandigarh or Haryana.  To ensure that every Mohali voter gets to exercise his franchise he has appealed to the Election Commission to declare 30th January as holiday in  Tricity.

Mr. Rajinder Singh Rana, District Congress President Mohali, Harkesh Chand Sharma Machllikalan , General Secretary, DCC , Mohali  were present on the occasion
