Traffic Police Srinagar launches drive against violators

Continuing with its efforts to decongest Srinagar city of traffic mess, Traffic Police Srinagar today  seized fifteen passenger service vehicles (Mini-buses) for overloading, intermittent stops, boarding and de-boarding passengers at places other than designated bus stops.The drive has been initiated in view of public complaints, grievances and the quantum of traffic violations committed by passenger service vehicle drivers and operators for picking, dropping of passengers at affecting traffic movement places.The drive was also to check overloading, intermittent obstructive stops, misbehaviour, non availability of services at late hours, route violations, over charging, playing audiovisual systems, negligent driving, reservation of seats for women and handicapped persons and un regulated movement. The drive shall continue against the errant public service transport operators and drivers to ensure convenience to the general public.
