Tourism potential of Pir Panchal being tapped: Tantray

Referring to the vast potential of tourism in district Poonch for generating employment besides giving a fillip to the local economic and social development, Member Legislative Assembly Haveli, Shah Mohammad Tantray has said that every possible effort will be made to explore and develop various tourist spots in Poonch district.He said projects like Mughal road, construction of Loran to Tanamargh road and upgradation of Jammu to Poonch National Highway besides growth of Cross-LoC Trade and Travel will make Poonch a gateway of Jammu and Kashmir and all this necessitates development of infrastructural facilities at the potential tourist spots.He said tourist places like Nabni, Thanpeer, Jabbi (Arai), Loran, Gali Maidan, Noorpur (Salnooian), Nandi Chhool besides seven lakes on the upper reaches of Pir Panjal and various other tourist spots in the district can attract thousands of tourist and improve the local economy besides generating employment opportunities. For promotion of tourism, a Festival Mela will be organized from 10th to 15th of April, 2016, he added.
