CM says Congress alone dare not face SAD-BJP alliance

Describes Punjab a lighting tower of communal concord and harmony for other states

Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today said that Congress Party was unable to face the strong bonding of SAD-BJP alliance that’s why newly coroneted Punjab Congress President Captain Amarinder Singh and his team was working day and night to establish Grand Alliance but it is the fact that the latter will never get reins of political power in state. Mr. Badal said neither Congress nor others have any alternate against unprecedented development registered by ruling alliance in Punjab during almost decade long rule.Describing that Congress Party not in Punjab but also in the country in pathetic state, Mr. Badal said that Congress could not face the voters since during its decades long rule in the state and country, it ignored the aspirations of common masses as well as development.

While interacting media persons after addressing National Executive Meet of International Vaish Federation here, Mr. Badal said that Congress Party alone dare not vie SAD-BJP alliance. He said Captain Amarinder would again meet massive political defeat in ensuing 2017 polls while ruling alliance will register third consecutive victory. On being asked about the Aam Aadmi Party, the Chief Minister said that AAP was not an issue. Mr. Badal said that AAP was recruiting the rejected leaders from other parties, which had no effect on ruling combine.Badal also announced that the payment of Paddy will be disbursed in coming days to Arthiyas in the state. Answering a query the Chief Minister said that a high level committee has been constituted to resolve the issues pertaining to industry and trades in Punjab, which will submit its report soon. Reiterating his resolve of similar development of all constituencies in the state, the Chief Minister said that Punjab Government will disburse grant of Rs. 25 crore to each constituency so that all areas will witness the same development. He said that in urban areas Rs. 1600 crore would be incurred for various development purposes including sewerage, availability of potable water, basic amenities etc.The Chief Minister also announced a discretionary grant of Rs. 20 lakh for renovation of school named after Lala Lajpat Rai at Jagraon.Earlier addressing the gathering at National Executive Meet of International Vaish Federation Mr. Badal termed Punjab a lighting tower of communal concord and harmony for other states. He said that Punjabis had made maximum sacrifices in independence movement besides this state having two and half percentage populace of country has been contributing more than 50 percent in national food kitty.

Lauding the contribution of Vaish Community in the socio-economic development of Punjab, the Chief Minister welcomed the delegates of community gathered here from across the country. He also extended an invitation of holding annual meet here in Punjab.Meanwhile, the Union Minister of Science and Technology Dr. Harsh Vardhan in his address said that the sacred land of Punjab and Punjabis had contributed a lot in freedom struggle. He said it was due to incomparable contribution of Punjabis that country was witnessing multi-religion society. Recalling the sacrifices of Guru Teg Bahadur Ji and Guru Gobind Singh Ji, his family Dr. Harsh Vardhan said that Hindus cannot ever forget these sacrifices. He also assured Vaish Community that Center will extend fulsome support and help to social initiative being taken by the community.

Earlier Punjab Cabinet Minister Mr. Madan Mohan Mittal and Federation President Mr. Ramdas Aggarwal welcomed Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal and Union Cabinet Minister Mr. Harsh Vardhan and briefed about the meet. They said that the maiden meet on the land of Punjab has remained successful besides thanking Mr. Badal for ensuring peace, communal harmony, amity and tranquility in the state. The entire meet paid tributes to Shaheed Lala Lajpat Rai. Prominent amongst those present on the occasion included Irrigation Minister Mr. Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, Advisor to Punjab CM Mr.Maheshinder Singh Grewal, Mayor Ludhiana Mr. Harcharan Singh Gohalwaria, MLA Ranjit Singh Dhillon, BJP’s state media incharge Mr. Sunil Singla, Mr. Sarjiwan Jindal and delegates from across the country.
