DDC Kishtwar discusses preparation of DIP Phase-1

A meeting was held under the chairmanship District Development Commissioner Kishtwar G.N Balwan regarding preparation of District Irrigation Plan (DIP)  Phase-1 for District Kishtwar under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayi Yojna (PMKSY) for the year 2015-16. Officers of Agriculture, Command Area Development Jammu, DRDA Kishtwar, Horticulture, Rural Development, PHE Irrigation & Flood Control, Forest, Lead Bank and IWMP attended the meeting. Additional District development Commissioner Kishtwar, Kishor Lal gave valuable suggestions for finalization of DIP. District Development Commissioner being the chairman of District level implementation committee (DLIC) for implementation of PMKSY impressed upon all the officers to gear up their field functionaries for preparation of District Irrigation Plan (DIP) of the district, so that the same can be submitted in time. He stressed upon all the officers to submit the data/Information as per the performa  expeditiously. He asked the officers of all the concerned departments to work as a team in close coordination with each other. 

Chief Agriculture Officer Kishtwar, Sh. Sunil Kapahi, who is also the Member Secretary of District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC) gave the introduction of PMKSY and elaborated the broad objectives of the scheme which included active convergence of investments in irrigation at field level, enhancing physical access of water on farm, integration of water sources, enhance the adoption of precision irrigation, attract greater private investments in irrigation, which will in turn increase agricultural production and productivity and enhance farm income. He also highlighted the main components of the scheme i.e to focus on faster completion of ongoing major projects (AIBP), “Har Khet ko Pani” and “Per Drop More Crop”.
