DC reviews implementation of NFSA in Poonch

Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Mohammad Harun Malik Sunday directed the Tehsil Level Committees to expedite the process of segregation of families into different categories for enrollment under NFSA and complete the same within fixed timeframe while ensuring that no deserving families are left out.Harun was reviewing the progress of consumer database creation for effective implementation of National Food Security Act, in a meeting he chaired here.Assistant Director CA&PD, Mohammad Naseeb, Tehsildar Haveli, Wakeel Ahmed Bhatt, Tehsildar Mandi, Auqil Nuvaid, Tehsildar Mendhar, Salam Din Choudhary, Tehsildar Mankote, Shahzad Khan, Tehsildar HQ, Jahangir Khan, AD Planning Javaid Choudhary besides other members of Tehsil Level Committees attended the meeting.

The Deputy Commissioner directed for accelerating the process of preparation of preliminary lists to be displayed on 22nd of December at respective FPSs and Sale Depots. He instructed the Tehsil Level Committees to ensure fault free scrutiny of the collected data before objections to the preliminary lists are invited from the general public.The Assistant Director CA&PD informed that forms for enrollment under NFSA were distributed among the consumers and a mass awareness campaign was launched through  media and AIR Poonch besides pamphlets were distributed regarding enrollment under NFSA.Segregation of families into Priority AAY, Priority, Non-Priority and Exclusion would serve as important criteria for seeking allocation under NFSA.Families under Priority category would get highly subsidized rations at the rate of Rs. 2 per kg (atta) and Rs. 3 per kg (rice), while as families under Non-Priority category would get rations at the rate of Rs. 8 (atta) and Rs. 10 per kg (rice).
