Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura reviews achievements under district plan in Budgam

An amount of Rs 103.66 crore has been incurred on various works under different sectors in district Budgam till ending November registering 92.21 percent expenditure.The Power Development Department has realized Rs 23 crore revenue in the district during the period.Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura informed this while chairing a high level meeting convened to review the physical and financial achievements in respect of key sectors here today.MLC, Saifu-din Bhat, Deputy Commissioner, Budgam, Mir Altaf Ahmad, Chief Engineers, head of various departments and officers of district administration and prominent citizens were present in the meeting.

Threadbare discussion was held on sanctioning of compensation to land owners whose area had been acquired for road widening and related works, status of proposed schemes under PHE, irrigation and other sectors.It was informed in the meeting that under R & B sector 55 schemes including 17 under NABARD were taken up for black topping in the district. Besides, 84 schemes including 5 road up gradation projects involving a road length of 308.16 km were approved and 64 habitations have been provided connectivity so far.The Minister had a detailed review of various schemes being implemented under education, agriculture, horticulture, social welfare and other sectors. He directed the executing agencies to gear up their field functionaries and speed up the pace of work on all ongoing hospital buildings besides other works for timely completion.

The Minister asked the PDD authorities to check transformers on day to day basis and ensure that these are functional properly. He also directed them to renovate transformer at Hapthnar village at the earliest.Hanjura directed the Rural Development Department to conduct door to door survey and prepare comprehensive plans for construction of lanes, drains and other public utilities. He asked the Forest authorities to prioritize timber distribution and ensure that the deserved are benefited.
