8 Hospitals of Punjab to get new Dialysis Units :: Vini Mahajan, Principal Secretary, Health

Punjab Government is committed to provide better health care facilities to the people of the state and in this direction, department of health & family welfare is taking numerous initiatives to improve infrastructure and equipment in the Govt. hospitals and strengthen the manpower. At the same time initiatives are also being taken to involve and motivate the social organisations and NGO's for increased participation in health sector.In this regard Ms. Vini Mahajan, Principal Secretary, Health & Family Welfare, Punjab here today held a meeting with Mr. S.P. Singh Oberoi, Chairman APEX Group of Companies (Dubai) and Managing Trustee of 'Sarbat Da Bhala' Charitable Trust (Regd.). 

The organization decided to provide 8 new Dialysis Units to the Health Department. The organization offered installation of these dialysis units at Civil Hospitals of Mukerian, Hoshiarpur, Phagwara, Tarntarn, Batala, S.A.S. Nagar (Mohali), Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar (Nawanshahar) and Malerkotla.Welcoming the move, Ms Vini Mahajan stated that Department. of Health & Family Welfare Punjab has been already provided 2 Dialyses Units in each in the district hospitals of Punjab, and in addition in 2 sub-divisional hospitals i.e. Abohar and Dasuha. One unit is for catering to the requirements of infected patients, whereas the other unit is for normal patients. Principal Secretary told that the with these 8 new dialyses units patients of these areas requiring dialysis shall get a major reprieve and patient inflow in these hospitals shall also improve further.
