Army holds medical camp at Naugam

Army held a medical camp to provide health care to people of Mawar Valley, Naugam in Kupwara district, under operation Sadbhavana.A defense spokesman said the aim of the Camp was to provide medical cover to the far flung area of Naugam, Lawoosa, Yahama, Sanzipura and Khuddi.The medical camp provided on the spot treatment, free medicines and specialist advice to the villagers evoking very encouraging response. It was a cumulative effort of Indian Army as well as the doctors from the health department of J & K in providing the medical services to the local population.

Over 400 patients of all age groups including children and women were treated and free medicines were distributed.  A volunteer blood donation camp was also organised where in blood was donated by Army and civil person. The specialist facilities of dentist, eye specialist, orthopedican and lady doctors were also made available to cater for specific medical need of populace.During the Camp five modified scooters were also distributed to differently abled civilians by the GOC of Baramullabased Army Division, Maj Gen Raj Shukla.  Hearing aids, blankets, woolen clothes and tarpaulins were also distributed to the needy populace.  The humanitarian effort of the Army was well received by the beneficiaries and will go a long way in further strengthening the bond between the people and its Army.
