Minister for Revenue, Javaid Mustafa Mir today said that National Land Records Modernization Programme (NLRMP) is aimed at developing a modern, comprehensive and transparent land records management system in the state.Chairing a high level meeting at civil secretariat here today regarding implementation of NLRMP in J&K, the Minister said the integrated programme aims to modernize management of land records, minimize scope of land and property disputes, enhance transparency in the land records maintenance system, and eventually facilitate moving towards guaranteed conclusive titles to immovable properties in the state.

Minister of state for Revenue and R&B, Mr Sunil Sharma, Chief Secretary, Mr. B R Sharma, Financial Commissioner Revenue, Mr. Raj Kumar Goyal, Commissioner Secretary GAD, Mr. Gazzanfar Hussain, Commissioner Survey & Land Records and other senior officers were present at the meeting.Earlier MoU was signed with Ramtech Software Pvt Ltd to digitise the revenue records of the State. The digitisation in the first phase will cover two districts of the state namely Jammu and Srinagar.Revenue Minister earlier directed to prepare system study and design document (SSDD) under overall supervision of Secretary Revenue, which will define the flow for digitalisation.

The minister impressed on the officers to digitalize the revenue records and provide services to people of the State at their doorstep.Mir also directed to constitute a committee consisting experts from Revenue, IT and Law departments, to take care of the issues associated with the revenue records and workout the operational guidelines.The Minister directed Financial Commissioner Revenue to relook into the  customised software to be used for the NLRMP, which would be exclusively designed in a way that it should have all the words and phrases  used in revenue record in Urdu only.To verify the software to be used for digitalization Mr, Mir directed officers to take up three villages on pilot basis in both Jammu and Srinagar district.
