DC Samba inaugurates newly established ARTO office

District Development Commissioner Samba, Sheetal Nanda today inaugurated the newly established ARTO office at the District Administrative Complex, Nandini Hills Samba.SSP Samba Joginder Singh , RTO Jammu A.K Khajuria, Deputy Director Planning Sunil Pandita, NIC Scientist D Rakesh Gupta , ARTO BOI Swarn Singh, ARTO Samba Kuldeep Singh and district heads of various departments were present on the occasion.The Office will provide single window system for the applicants with separate sections for registration, permits, license, fee and enquiry counters.The DDC also launched upgraded software of Vahan, a web based software version 4.0 that can be accessed from National Transport portalparivahan.gov.in .

Now applicants will receive messages via sms and can track their service request. They will also receive messages when fitness, registration certificate renewal, permit, insurance and toll tax are due. This is the 4th RTO office in the state to launch these services.ARTO Samba informed that the department will soon launch license pertaining software Sarthi version 4.0. besides soon driving license services would also be made online. Also users would be able to do online payments for RCs, permit, fitness and other services.The DDC appreciated the e-governance initiative of the department and hoped that it will result in transparency, efficiency and good service delivery.
