GBHS celebrates World Disability Day at Doda

Under the Inclusive Education for Disabled children (IED) component of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), World Disability Day was today celebrated here at Government Boys Higher secondary school (GBHS), Doda.MLC Mr Shyam Lal Bhagat was the chief guest on the occasion.A scintillating cultural programme comprising skits, songs, dances and other creative activities was organized on the occasion .Quiz, drawing, dancing, racing and singing competitions among the Differently abled children was also organized.In dancing competition Mithun, Kajal and Isha were awarded first, second and third prize respectively. Similarly in quiz competition the first, second and third position went respectively to Sajad Ul Haq, Vanshdeep and Umair Tariq   whereas in drawing competition Ansh Goria, Tariq Hussain and Arif Hussain were awarded first, second and third prize respectively.

In singing competition Rajo Devi, Munshi Ram and Tariq Hussain was adjudged first, second and third respectively.MLC while speaking on the occasion recounted the contributions made by various differently abled people in the field of dance, music science etc. and said that their lives are the source of inspiration for all.Calling the differently abled children as the children with special skills ADDC Doda impressed upon the Chief Education Officer Doda to hold more such events to provide a platform for the children to grow and perform.A team of 8 students who secured second position in the recently organized International Angali festival at Bhubneshwar Orissa was felicitated by the Chief Guest. He also distributed assistive devices like eye glasses among the CWSN children.   Certificates and Prizes were also distributed among the winners.
