Everest launches eco-friendly cement wood planks in Kashmir

Everest Fibre Cement Wood Planks were launched in Kashmir on Saturday. The product was launched at a local hotel in Srinagar.While launching the product, Rakesh Verma, General Manager Boards and Panel Business, Everest Industries said that the Indian Green Building Council and GRIHA certified products come as an eco-friendly and cost effective replacement to natural wood, providing people of Kashmir with the option of adopting elegant wall cladding solutions without causing harm to the nature.He said that at present there is a growing need for conserving forests and strike the right balance between human needs and nature, the practice of using real wood for construction needs to the diminished. “Everest Fibre Cement Wood Planks comes with the same promise of delivering stunning aesthetics without compromising with environment. 

Apart from being less costly compared to wood, these products are highly durable with fire and moisture resistance, termite proof, weather resistance and thermal insulation properties, making it ideal for hilly terrains like Kashmir,” Verma said.Vice President Subrata Dutta said that they have extensively been using fibre cement wood planks in smart building projects already in Kashmir Valley. He said these planks are light weighted, durable and eco-friendly and besides they are weather-proof and earthquake resistant.Everest is currently executing several projects in Jammu and Kashmir which includes Kashmir Central University campus under development in Ganderbal, construction of Law Block at Kashmir University, construction of auditorium cum library at Gulmarg campus of Kashmir University.
