UN Grants Special Consultative Status To Sant Nirankari Mandal

While releasing Press Release, Rev. Kirpa Sagar ji Member Incharge, Press and Publicity Sant Nirankari Mandal Delhi said that Sant Nirankari Mandal, the organizational outfit of the Sant Nirankari Mission has been granted Special Consultative Status by the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations for its valuable contribution in the spiritual, ethical and social fields.  The Council adopted a resolution to this effect accepting the recommendation of its Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations. 'Life gets a meaning, if it is lived for others.'  With these watchwords  and blessings of  His Holiness Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj,  Head of the Sant Nirankari Mission, this special consultative status enables the Sant Nirankari Mandal, Delhi to actively engage with the Economic and Social Council and its subsidiary bodies, as well as with the United Nations Secretariat, its programmes, funds  and agencies in a number of ways.The status signifies a striking similarity in the activities of the Mandal and those of the Council.  Founded on the religious base for spiritual awakening, the Sant Nirankari Mandal marks and promotes love for every human being.  It is playing a remarkable role for public welfare through a wide range of socio-spiritual activities including relief to the victims of natural calamities, free medical check-up camps, tree plantation drives, cleanliness campaigns,  women and youth empowerment, polio drops to children, facilities of education and help to the poor and physically challenged.  The Sant Nirankari Sewa Dal volunteers are committed to selfless service to humanity wherever and wherever needed.  World-wide blood donation camps have given the Mandal a leading position in the voluntary blood donation movement. The Mandal describes the UN decision as a welcome opportunity to participate in the work of United Nations, particularly the Economic and Social Council and its subsidiary bodies to achieve the 'Millennium Development Goals’ for the upliftment of the world community.
