Youth play a vital role in development of the nation: Chander Prakash Ganga

Minister for Industries and Commerce, Mr. Chander Prakash Ganga today visited Jammu Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) and interacted with prospective entrepreneurs who are part of ongoing Entrepreneurship Development Programme at the institute.Mr. Ganga while interacting with candidates said that youth play a vital role in the development of the nation. The Minister discussed various business activities with the aspirants. He also talked to them regarding their proposed business ventures, assuring them all possible support to make their projects successful.On the occasion, young aspirants shared their ideas regarding variety of business activities under manufacturing, services and agro allied sectors.Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ganga said it is also the responsibility of the future entrepreneurs to take forward the mission of “Make in India”.The Minister said, various self-employment schemes have been introduced by the centre and state government to help youth establish their own business units, in turn providing employment to others, thus becoming employment providers. He also stressed for adopting innovative ideas to develop their business ventures. “Dedication and hard work is the key to success and always be honest to your work”, he added.

On the occasion, Director JKEDI, M I Parray informed the Minister, that the institute is providing training to interested candidates under self-employment schemes viz Seed Capital Fund scheme, Youth Start-up loan scheme and Himayat self- employment scheme.The Minister was also informed that the curriculum of the training includes a proper mix of theory and actual market simulation with adequate field visits and the programme aims to equip candidates with business skills and exposure to market situations.During a detailed presentation on functioning of JKEDI, it was given out that the institute has provided facility of online queries related to various schemes, besides facilities including online registration and grievance portal have also been provided for benefit of the candidates. JKEDI has facilitated more than 6090 entrepreneurs under various Entrepreneurship Development Programmes.

The Minister extended his best wishes to all the candidates for their future business endeavors.Earlier, the Minister also visited Samba and distributed blankets among poor. It was the initiative of an NGO namely “Believers Church” in collaboration with the Calvary Mission School, Samba.Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ganga said that service to humanity is a noble cause and everyone needs to contribute. He appreciated efforts of the NGO and Calvary Mission School for providing around 550 blankets to the needy people.
