A meeting of Committee on Petition (PC) of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council was held here today under the Chairmanship of MLC, Jugal Kishore Sharma.Legislators, Showkat Hussain Ganai, Sham Lal Bhagat, Vibodh Gupta and Surinder Ambardar were also present in the meeting.The Committee discussed petition of residents of village panjar, Udhampur regarding relief to flood victims of the area besides rehabilitation of residents of Panjar Mohra Saddal village.Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary briefed the Committee regarding the relief and rehabilitation provided by government to the families of these villages affected due to a land slide on  06-09-2014 ..

He also informed that cash compensation has been already provided to affected families and land measuring about 114 kanals has been identified in village Debrah Tehsil Udhampur for the rehabilitation of  the sufferers. Free ration for six months have also been provided to affected families.He further informed that the matter for providing pre-fabricated hutments for settlement of 135 affected families has  been taken up with the  concerned authorities .Another petition of residents of Kargil, regarding grant of land and tree compensation was also discussed in the meeting.Financial Commissioner, Revenue, Mr. R K Goel, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Dr. Pawan Kotwal, Deputy Commissioner, Kargil, Chief Engineer, I&FC, Jammu, Chief Engineer, PMGSY, Kashmir besides Secretary Legislative Council, Mr. Abdul Majeed Bhat and other officers were also present in the meeting.
