The world recently witnessed the important event of a confluence of major world leaders coming together on one platform to address the issue of Climate Change at Cop21, a summit held in Paris.YPS, Patiala, was privileged to be amongst the fourteen schools nominated from across the Globe and the only school from India to participate in this conference on climate change. The student delegates made representation at COY11, a parallel Conclave of Youth.

The conference turned out to be an exercise by the Youth of the world to voice their opinion and express their concern before the world leaders on the changing climate patterns that are adversely affecting the planet and, consequently, the life of all species inhabiting it.

The summit also sought to explore the various   policies and measures that need to be immediately adopted to check a further spread of this climate change and effectively address   the issue. The Centre for Global Education and Taking ITGlobal, Canada, came together in a Global Virtual Town Hall to discuss the youth’s vision of the future of their planet.  From Accra to Alberta, Stockholm to South Africa, the youth exchanged ideas, debated alternatives, and ultimately created a document that represents their views and concerns on the survival our species and our blue planet.  The student-delegates attended Webinars and virtual platform over a period of 2 months to create a white paper on “#Decarbonize: A Global Mobilization on Climate Change”, that was actually presented before the world leaders at COP21 conference in Paris.
