CRPF, police reviews ‘threat perception’ in Valley

A day after seven CRPF personnel were injured police and CRPF held a “special” meeting and reviewed “current threat perception and security aspects” in the Valley.PRO CRPF Kashmir, Ashish Kumar Jha in a statement issued to GNS that the special meeting was attended by S.K Bhagat Special DG CRPF, Javaid M Gillani, IGP Kashmir and Nalin Prabhat, IG (Ops) Kashmir, CRPF. The meeting followed a special visit of Prakash Mishra, Director General CRPF to Srinagar on Tuesday following the yesterday’s militant attack on CRPF Convoy in Semthan village on Srinagar-Jammu highway.“The attack is said to have been carried out by Hizb-ul-Mujahideen. Prakash Mishra visited HQ/90 BN CRPF and took note of damaged vehicle which was fired upon by militants,” PRO said.The DG also met the injured CRPF personnel of 53 and 179 BN CRPF in 92 Base Hospital at Badami Bagh cantt.“DG appreciated their swift action against the attack. He also announced rewards and DG Discs for such gallant action by CRPF parties,” he said.Pertinently, seven CRPF men were injured after militants attacked their vehicle near Green Tunnel in Simthen area of South Kashmir.
