Parkash Singh Badal Salutes The Martyrs, Brave Serving & Ex-Servicemen For Their Valour On The Flag Day

On the occasion of the Armed Forces Flag Day 2015, Defence Services Welfare Minister Mr. Janmeja Singh Sekhon and Director Defence Services Welfare Punjab Brig.(Retd.) Jatinder Singh Arora today pinned Armed Forces Flag on the Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal here at CM’s residence.Paying befitting tributes to the martyrs and brave soldiers of our country on the Flag Day, Mr. Badal said that this historic day gave us an opportunity to re-affirm our solidarity with the Armed Forces and to recognize the Services of Ex-servicemen. He also called upon the people to salute the martyrs for their supreme sacrifice and courage, besides contribute voluntarily and generously towards the Flag Day Fund, which would be utilised for the noble cause of the rehabilitation of war widows, disabled defence personnel and Ex-servicemen.  He further said that it was a humble contribution and token of respect towards the outstanding services rendered by our valiant soldiers who zealously guarded our borders around the clock.

The Chief Minister also generously donated towards the Defence Services Welfare Fund on this historic day.On this occasion Mr. Badal also released a magazine ‘Rann-Jodhey’ published by Directorate of Defence Services Welfare highlighting the various welfare schemes of state and Centre government for ex-servicemen, widows and their wards besides carrying out in-depth perspective 90-minute interview with Marshal of the Air Force Arjan Singh, Padam Vibushan and write-up on Golden Jubilee Commemoration function of the 1965 Indo-Pak war at Amarkot, Tarn Taran.
